Summary:
The HSE Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the health, safety and environmental programs at the plant. He/she will do this by carrying out the following essential duties and

Promote good health, safety and environmental practices throughout the organization; lead by example in these areas.
Ensure all plant practices and procedures are in compliance with current regulations.
Maintain routine oversight and management of solid waste and wastewater programs; including permit compliance, waste characterization and disposal, wastewater sampling, and the requisite reporting under each program.
Identify and provide necessary HSE training for all employees as needed and required by laws and regulations.
Maintain all HSE records and statistics.
Act as Project Manager for HSE related projects as necessary; working with employees and contractors.
This position reports directly to the site manager.
Works closely with all department managers, also with the Operations Manager, and also seeks and receives advice on HSE related matters, as necessary or initiated.
24/7 hour catalyst manufacturing facility; must be prepared to tackle issues as they arise, even outside of the normal business day.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university, preferably in the Environmental or related scientific field; or equivalent combination of some education plus 5-7 years of experience.

years of HSE experience in a chemical plant.
MUST have a Strong environmental and safety background.
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
Excellent interpersonal skills for relating to all levels of the organization.
Able the manage projects in addition to day-to-day HSE responsibilities.
Must be willing to sign Non-compete and Patent & Trade Secret agreement upon first day of employment.
Technical writing skills.
Math and statistics skills.
Analytical skills.
Problem solving skills.
Computer skills including but not limited to: Inventory Management System, Microsoft Suite, Outlook
Experience in ISO-9001 and ISO 14001 programs a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
