Duties may include but are not limited to:
Follows established procedures in receiving, checking, verifying, sorting, and classifying materials and equipment.
Reviews documents to assure correct item identification, quantity, and condition and report significant discrepancies.
Applies basic manual skills when using hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, and other hand tools to unpackage/disassemble equipment.
In property utilization and disposal facilities, able to recognize a limited number of basic metals.
Able to compare identifying data such as article stock numbers, condition coding, and material identification plates and assign coding for further processing, acceptance, rejection, or dismantling.
Applies a basic knowledge of magnetic, spark, and chemical tests to test metal components of usable equipment for salvage purposes.
Responsible for the safe and proper operation of machinery, tools, and in the operation of forklifts and related equipment.
Performs moderate to heavy lifting when moving material by hand or hand truck.
Operates/drives a variety of fork lifts, metal bailer, and motor vehicles. Lifts/carries items that weigh up to 50 lbs. Walks and stands for prolonged periods of time.
The work often requires bending, stooping, and pushing/pulling heavy material.
May be subject to hazards involved in working in proximity to moving equipment such as forklifts, trucks, cranes etc.
Includes other job related duties as assigned.

Conditions of employment:
1. A one-year probationary period may be required.
2. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.
3. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification check.
4. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, i to include a National Agency Check (NAC) is required.

These are Regular Part-time positions (guaranteed 20 hours per week) with eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plan.
Crafts and Trade employees will receive step increases progressively starting with step 1 ($10.48 per hour) and ending with step 5 ($12.23 per hour).
Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement for up to 90 days after the closing date.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
