However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of a Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common carpentry, plumbing, and painting, such as applying woodworking techniques and basic shop mathematics, using measuring tapes, squares, levels, and other carpentry tools to plan, lay out, measure, cut, construct and install materials according to dimensional requirements and specifications; preparing surface for painting and coat methods and techniques; removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing joints and fixtures, such as traps, faucets, and unions; hooking up equipment, such as water heaters and disposal units and using plumbing equipment such as tapes, rules, hacksaws, hand and power pipe threaders and cutters. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Work is performed in shops and at job sites. Individual will work from ladders, scaffolds, rooftops, and platforms for cramped and hard-to-reach places. Work may require individual to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. When at a job site, strenuous physical exertion is sometimes required when handling heavy and bulky materials such as sheets of plywood, framing members, and other building and construction materials. Occasionally lifts and carries items that weigh about 45 pounds and heavier weights with assistance. Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside and outside with exposure to variations in weather and temperatures. Dirt, spray, and fumes are usually present. Sometimes the individual will be required to work outside in bad weather; e.g., snow removal. Individual may be required to wear protective equipment and clothing that are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable; e.g., safety shoes, ear plugs, goggles, gloves, safety belt, and respirator. Individual performs duties that may involve the handling and/or removal of friable and non-friable asbestos. Individual may also be exposed to the possibility of injury, cuts, bruises, and broken bones. This position is a TERM position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of six years. This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
